In a spirit of gratitude, we’d like to give a shout out to an extra special member of the Connect2 Community: Open Door Ministries, High Point. Open Door Ministries (ODM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people regain their lives through supportive services and emergency assistance. Their programs and services are solution-oriented and ministry minded, including the operation of a homeless shelter, serving daily meals, distributing non-perishable and fresh food, obtaining permanent housing, and acquiring and maintaining permanent jobs. The active and important work Open Door Ministries is doing in North Carolina and around the country is inspirational and we are grateful for their commitment to serving the greater good!
We are honored to partner with the ODM High Point team in their aim to improve operational excellence, enhance team communication, and increase efficiency so they can spend more hands-on time with their clients. Operational support manager, Scott Peterson, explains that “With 7 different programs that offer assistance to different struggles faced by the community, there is always an immense amount of moving parts. Through Connect2, we have been able to centralize communication in a much more efficient manner. Slight changes to forms and procedures that were only available in a physical format can be transformed instantly, not only saving us paper but time. Time is important in our organization. We are attempting to get individuals housed, fed, and financially stable when they are in very time-sensitive situations. Being able to quickly submit, access, and organize our data, we offer a more immediate return with services.”
Providing effective support to their clients means that the ODM team must be able to access, share and analyze information quickly and with ease. Scott shares that “Our ability to share, communicate, and inform all staff members is essential to providing the most effective support to our clients.” The switch to paperless operations has allowed the ODM team to do just that! One of their most used Connect2 modules is the forms module, which allows them to eliminate mass amounts of paper printing, provide immediate notifications of form submissions, deliver a user-friendly interface for staff, and offer organized data collection.
